Oh So Sweet

Blogging just hasn't been my thing this time around. I feel badly about it too. EVERYTHING in Elijah's first year is recorded on this blog. Hardly anything has been recorded for Madi though. Instead of whining and regretting, I'll guess I'll spend my time on my little sweethearts!

Madeline is nearly 11 months old. She is an absolute sweetheart! She loves to be loved and give love...excellent hugger and kisser! She is all over the place at this point...crawling, pulling up, crawling half way up the stairs (oh my!), but she is not yet walking along things. She loves to throw and chase the ball. She likes books but only to chew on and turn the pages herself! Baby food didn't last too long with her as she has been eating table food for a couple of months now. She only takes a bottle before bed otherwise all sippys. She loves to eat pretty much anything that she can feed herself. She has her two bottom teeth and four top teeth. She is an EXCELLENT sleeper...7:30ish until 6 most nights (no fussing at all) and a 2 hour nap in the morning when she's at Brooke's house and a shorter afternoon snooze. She's a chatterbox and silly when she's well rested with a full belly! I swear she knows how to say her brother's name and she definitely knows who daddy is! She has a favorite baby that she drags around Brooke's house. At home she loves to "put things in and take things out" whenever and wherever she can. Madi is full of personality...she's independent, sensitive, and a joy! She absolutely is a happy girl and has the best smile! Miss Madi...I love you and adore you more than you'll ever know!

Elijah is 28 months...I can't believe it! He's in Minnesota with his dad this weekend and was soooo excited to go for so many reasons. He just called his mommy and gave me repeated "love you"s which melt my heart! We didn't know where he had gone yesterday just before Matt was ready to leave and we found him in the truck, sitting in his seat, ready to go! He was especially looking forward to seeing Paul Bunyan and the Blue Ox which appear in his Goodnight Minnesota book. He's so thrilled with squirrels, birds, bunnies, ducks, bugs, and anything else that might be alive and moving in our yard. He puts seeds out for the animals and yells at them to come and eat his seeds! At night he reminds me that the "possums" are coming. He seems to be all boy right now. His sister is going to be a tough little bugger as she has to put up with his rough play and love. He seems to want whatever Madi has these days. They aren't quite on the same page in the playing together category yet! BUT oh can they make each other giggle at the dinner table. Eating is hit or miss for Elijah these days. He likes "snacks" and likes to get his own food from the pantry and fridge. He loves oatmeal, eggs, waffles, and pancakes. String cheese, crackers, yogurt melts, and yogurt are some other favorites. Hotdogs and chicken nuggets are usually shoe-ins for a full belly too. Easter candy along with my poor attempt at potty training have introduce the "I want candy" sentence into his vocabulary. One other thing that he says that makes me giggle is when he covers his head with a blanket and comments "I can't see everything." It makes perfect sense! Despite the fact that he often is doing something that he probably shouldn't, he really is a sweet boy. He loves to help and please others. He likes to snuggle at times and still absolutely LOVES to read books. At Avery's birthday pary, I was very impressed how he followed directions that my cousin, Jill, was giving to the little ones for a game of duck, duck, goose. He also has a new taking to super heros as he often tells me "Mom, I'm superman!" Buzz lightyear is definitely a fav along with batman. He's so active right now that I could go on and on! I'll end with the one thing that we've known since he was 6 months old...he loves to play ball...be it football or baseball or basketball or soccer or golf...he loves to play ball! Elijah, I love you forever and always!

So...I hope I remember these days forever and ever. I have a terrible memory so perhaps this blog will trigger a few if I do forget! One thing is for sure...Matt and I have definitely been blessed!
