Count Down

The Baileys and Boyers are headed back to the midwest today. We had a wonderful time while they were here. Matt and I are now counting down the days until our little guy arrives. I won't be going back to work and probably will be having a baby at some point in the next 2 1/2 weeks. Modified bedrest, blood pressure medicine, and close monitoring over the next couple of weeks will be the routine. I have lots to do to prepare for being out of school. Hopefully I can get lots done in the next 5 days or so...what will be, will be, I guess. I feel pretty well prepared for the baby's arrival...a few more things to do and get...hopefully Matt can follow instructions. He's been wonderful -- I don't know what I'd do without him!

Christmas in North Carolina

We've enjoyed a wonderful holiday with my parents, Anne, Skyler, and Lauren. It has been very nice to have everyone together. Lauren is a doll and growing up very quickly. She's getting very tall and definitely has a mind of her own. She's as active as any 3 year old that I know. She's had fun playing with all of her Christmas presents and a few of baby Wheeler's toys as well. She's been Matt's best friend since the second she arrived. She loves Belle too. We haven't done anything too exciting but are enjoying being with one another. Anne, Skyler and Matt did make a trip to Raleigh to go shopping yesterday. They went to Babies-R-Us, Hooters, and the mall. Sounds like it was quite the trip. They did a little shopping for me at Babies-R-Us -- the big purchase was the stroller/car seat. I love the one we ended up with! Dad helped me to take Christmas down and mom and Lauren went on a field trip to the bookstore and mall. They will stay a few more days before they make the dreaded return trip to Iowa -- we will hope for good weather. Lauren says its time to wrap this up and come play.

Rookie Blogger

This is my first attempt at blogging so please bear with me. This site will be used to update our family & friends on our growing family.

We are excited about our soon to arrive little guy. He is expected in about 4 weeks but who knows when he will decide to make his entrance into this world. I already love him so much and just can't wait to meet him. What an absolutely awesome and amazing experience pregnancy has been so far.

We are celebrating Christmas in North Carolina for the first time in 5 years. As much as we'd love to be in Iowa and Minnesota with our families we are enjoying a holiday season without traveling. My family (mom, dad, Anne, Skyler, Lauren, and Baby Boyer) are enroute as I type. I haven't seen them since mid-July and am excited for their arrival.
